Dirty Dickens, aka Jim Snooka, is an independent artist with Black Tortoise Music, collaborating with Lyrical Kartel. A musician, emcee, videographer, and Underground Spike Bat Rap Coordinator, Dirty Dickens brings a unique perspective shaped by a life spent between cultures, cities, and musical influences.
Raised in a military family, he spent his childhood in Germany, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania, with roots by way of Illinois. Growing up during the ’80s and ’90s, Dirty Dickens and his brother were what they called “latchkey kids”—learning early how to navigate life with independence, creativity, and a strong sense of self.
Naturally, hip-hop became his outlet and his language.
From emceeing and creating music to coordinating underground rap events and working behind the camera as a videographer, Dirty Dickens has remained deeply connected to the culture from multiple angles. His approach is rooted in authenticity, storytelling, lyricism, and the raw spirit of underground hip-hop.
Now based in Atlanta, GA, Dirty Dickens continues to build his name and his movement through Black Tortoise Music and his collaborations with Lyrical Kartel—representing the independent artist, the underground, and the culture that raised him.
